Giant Grasshoppers

Today's catch are giant grasshoppers.  We caught several of these while on a bike ride in the woods yesterday.  Most of them were happy to be transplanted into our yard, but this one likes his box and has chosen to stay.
Researching "what grasshoppers eat" this morning.  Answer: veggies.

These guys, unlike most of the creatures Gavin catches, remind me of bugs I used to catch when I was a kid. These huge grasshoppers were prolific in Southern Utah and my sisters and I used to catch them and keep them in jars.
